The Dakota – adding history & mystery to the Upper West Side…

After taking “Shades of Rosemary’s Baby” I went in search of the actual setting for the film.  Well, I didn’t have to look far. To my mild surprise, it was the Dakota, the site where John  Lennon met his untimely and sad end. While I was there I noticed that tourists were taking photos of the street where the Beatles star fell. I opted for the building. I felt it needed to be in black and white, though I kept the color from the “gas” lamps in the front. This is truly a building with a history.
